A North London Photoshoot with Shoe Designer Laura See London
Today on the blog, I am sharing this wonderful full day brand shoot I had just after Boris let us out with Laura, from Laura See London. Laura is an upcoming shoe designer who is soon to launch her own brand of colourful, comfortable and gorgeous shoes.
Laura’s story is a truly inspiring one and I encourage you to head over to her website to read it on her own words. After her husband passed away, Laura found herself drawing shoes…designing shoes and realised she has a talent for it. During the pandemic Laura decided to take her designs one step further and have a line of shoes crafted in Italy.
Laura’s passion, drive and attention to detail is apparent is everything she does. We spoke for months about our brand photo shoot before we were allowed to do it, through these emails I found Laura to have excellent taste, a clear vision and a real passion for comfortable but stunning footwear. Laura needed brand images that showed that her shoes really are born from hours of sketching to chats with an Italian craft team about comfort and luxury to having the finished product ready to purchase. It really is not easy to organise getting together for a photoshoot during covid lockdowns, but Laura made this process a dream.
We decided the safest and easiest solution was for me to photograph Laura in her North London apartment. As soon as I walked in I knew it was Laura’s home and we’d made the right choice in location. In order to authentically showcase Laura’s brand, we need the light, the colours and the props and her home has this in spades.
As we know, being a business owner is hard, especially when the world is literally on fire. Laura has built a brand, created a range of footwear, launched a web shop and gotten in her personal branding photography whilst being in lockdown, having to move house and juggle two other jobs. She’s superwoman, in really really great heels.
Women, as driven and passionate as Laura never fail to inspire and awe me. And meeting and photographing women like her is one of the many reasons why I am so in love with my job.
I’m excited to watch as Laura’s designs hit the streets of London, from picnics to cocktail bars. Always shimmering with luxury, fun and a flirtatious quality, from flats to heels, her shoes are soft, comfortable and made to be worn. Not many brands can say the same.
