Harare Maternity Photoshoot - Malcolm & Zara

Zimbabwe light! Okay, I have been photographing under the English skies for a few years, often magic light. But the light in Zimbabwe!! It never fails to humble me.

On the day of my photoshoot with Malcolm & Zara, rain clouds teased me, threatening to obscure the light I desperately wanted for this photoshoot. But, by the time I arrived at their gorgeous home and location for the shoot, I was laughing at my own weather worry. The light in Zim, always gives! Clouds, clear skies - it all works.

Okay enough about light. This photoshoot is an extra special one, Malcolm and Zara are celebrating a new arrival in their family, I got to hang out with and photograph their special puppy and cat, and I got to wish them a very happy first anniversary. I always feel very honoured to capture this particular journey for expecting parents, and the more time I spent with these two, the more honoured I felt.

Having a family photoshoot at home is special, you can include your pets (please do), your cupboard is right there should you feel an outfit change coming on and it represents your family authentically. We popped on some music, and wandered around the garden and home, and got some lovely memories.

Malcolm and Zara were an absolute dream to photograph. Find me a more in love, beautiful couple, I dare you!
